Kaat Stieber

Through my art, I hold up a mirror to the world : honest, relatable and with a touch of humor.

Kaat's work is internationally recognized, having earned multiple awards and been featured in exhibitions worldwide.

Theater was my first love

Theater was mijn eerste liefde.

Theater was my first love. After over twenty years of creating and performing my own shows, I now continue that experience in my visual work. The medium has shifted from stage to still image—a transition that, surprisingly, suits me much better.

Inpsired by Human Nature

Born in the Netherlands, Kaat left at a young age to explore the world. After several years of travel, she realized that what she was seeking elsewhere was primarily to be found in her own country. This insight, which came later in life, forms the core of her work: it is the history and cultural heritage of her homeland that now inspires Kaat the most.

I love both the past and the present, and my work is a seamless fusion where the two eras coexist.

My passion means I am always busy, always inventing, always creating. I deeply love what I do. Even if I lived to be 300, I still wouldn’t be finished with all the work I want to make.
