Vanaf nu bouw ik regelmatig een natuurlijke set in de studio. Om een stukje van mijn jeugd te bewaren, neem ik elke keer een stukje van de tuin van mijn moeder mee naar mijn fotostudio. Fotografie heeft mij vaak geholpen in het proces van afsluiten. Deze keer sluit ik het hoofdstuk af van het huis waarin ik ben opgegroeid. Binnen voelt het te druk en ik neem dit niet zo goed op, aan de andere kant voel ik de frisse lucht en de ruimte van het platteland buiten. Dus ik bewaar liever de herinneringen aan de tuin van mijn moeder, ze hield van haar bloemen.
Passion Flower
From now on I regularly build a natural set in the studio. To preserve a piece of my childhood, I take a piece of my mother’s garden to my photo studio every time. Photography has often helped me in the closing process. This time I’m closing the chapter on the house I grew up in. Inside it feels too crowded and I don’t take this very well, on the other hand I feel the fresh air and the space of the countryside outside. So I prefer to keep the memories of my mother’s garden, she loved her flowers.
In mei zijn de Masterclasses weer van start gegaan. Uiteraard worden deze dagen veilig en volgens de voorschriften georganiseerd. De groepen blijven klein, we houden afstand en de lunch wordt in aparte boxen geleverd.
Gelukkig is gebleken dat de sfeer niet is veranderd, een fotostudio met fotografen vol passie. Fotografen met een verschillende achtergrond en voorkeur, sommige hebben het fotograferen recent ontdekt en anderen fotograferen al jaren voor hun beroep. De diversiteit en tegelijk de eenheid van de deelnemers blijft een mooi onderdeel van een dag vooral ook fijn portretteren, uitproberen en leren.
De maand juni is inmiddels volgeboekt, in juli zijn er nieuwe data beschikbaar.
Editorial fotografie zoals ze in een magazine geplaatst kunnen worden. Een stille wens is uitgekomen met een mooie samenwerking met Make-up and hair artist Lydia Thann. Al jaren ben ik fan van haar prachtige werk en bovendien is zij een heel fijn persoon. We delen de passie om met mooie stoffen en materialen te werken en unieke accessoires te creëren. Zo is het thema Color Poem tot stand gekomen in een unieke samenwerking die naar meer of vaker smaakt.
De tweede samenwerking was met het modellenbureau Only model management. Modellen Esther en Evy hebben met hun looks en inzet de beelden prachtig neergezet. Iedereen super bedankt voor dit mooie teamwork. Hier word je als creatieveling extra gelukkig van.
Afgelopen zaterdag was er weer een Masterclass Fine Art Portret in de fotostudio in Rotterdam. Op deze middagen vult de studio zich met gepassioneerde fotografen en fijne modellen. Voor de gelegenheid worden de modellen met unieke styling gefotografeerd om zo ook het portfolio van de deelnemende fotografen een boost te geven.
Deze Masterclass is ook bedoeld als motivator. Het is essentieel een eigen weg en stijl te vinden, een eigen handtekening is tenslotte de beste marketing voor zowel een portret fotograaf als een kunstenaar. Ook gaan we in op het onderwerp Fine Art, wat is dat nou precies en hoe kun je van jouw passie en talent een succes maken. Kaat Stieber vertelt haar verhaal en de weg die zij bewandeld heeft en de plannen voor de toekomst.
Dit jaar zal er nog 1 masterclass op zaterdag 16 november plaats vinden. Reserveren is noodzakelijk.

Wat een ongelofelijke mooie afsluiter van het prachtige jaar 2017! Allemaal best kort dag en er moet nog veel gebeuren voordat de foto in de galerie in Londen hangt, maar met een kunst expositie die om het geloof draait geloof ik er heilig in dat dit gaat lukken. Het werk is met spoed in Amsterdam geproduceerd en vervolgens door mij persoonlijk naar de galerie “Laura I” op Abbey Road in Barking gebracht. Een nieuw avontuur dat begint in Nederland en met de Eurostar trein eindigt in Londen, waar de stad zo net voor kerst vol hangt met engelen.
